TYPES OF SKIN CANCER

Skin imperfections such as freckles and moles are common and usually. However, some of these lesions may be at risk of becoming cancerous. At our clinic, we specialize in identifying and treating the three main types of skin cancer: Basel Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Melanoma. We are here to help you stay informed and take care of your skin health.

BASAL CELL CARCINOMA (BCC)

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer, but also least risky. It typically appears on areas of the body that receive the most sun exposure, such as the face arms, and legs. Although it is slow-growing and unlikely to spread to other organs, it still requires treatment. Symptoms include a flesh-colored bump that resembles a mole or pimple that doesn't go away, as well as easy bleeding and non-healing sores.

SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA (SCC)

Thank you for providing information about Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It is indeed important to detect and remove them early. Squamous Cell Carcinoma can appear as a dome-shaped bump or a red scaly patch of skin and can bleed easily when scraped. If you notice any of these symptoms, it is recommended to consult a dermatologist for further evaluation and treatment.

MELANOMA

Melanoma is a serious form of skin cancer that can spread quickly to other parts of the body if not caught early. It can appear as a brown, black, grey or pink-coloured lesion and can be hard to distinguish from a benign mole. If you notice changes in an existing mole or have concerns about any lesions, it's important to book an appointment with a doctor for a skin health check as soon as possible. With the development of dermascopic technology, doctors can now identify melanoma at early stages.
